Generally,
when we play the lottery, our main aim is to win the main – million
zloty- prize. With that large sum we would finally be able to make
our dreams come true. Unfortunately, it often happens that, blinded
by the winnings and focused only on our needs we forget about the
needs of the others.
However the French combined
'business' with pleasure. The French Ministry of Culture and the
French Heritage Foundation came out with an initiative to organise a
special lottery, so-called 'The Heritage Lotto' which part of a
jackpot will be intended for renovation of the most threatend
monuments in the country. In the the offer there are classical
tickets and scratch cards. The official draw will take place on
Friday, September 14, 2018, the day before European Heritage Day.
Eighteen monuments (local residences and bridges) destinatated to
this restoration project will be chosen by special comitee on the
head of which stands Stephan Bern, a popular french historian and
television/radio host. Their choice will be dictated mainly by the
cultural and historical significance of the building, urgency of its
restoration and localisation. It is estimated that the sum of the
funds, collected in the lottery, will be approximately 15-20 million
euros.
Well,
there is nothing more to add as to wish the French: Good luck! :)
